The Muhammadan Period" citing Miftah al-Futuh , a work by Amir Khusro, provide the following account of this distinguished Saini general in the Rajput army of Rana Hamir Dev Chauhan:
Gurdan Saini was the commander-in-chief of the army of Rana Hamir. He was regarded by his contemporary Turk historians as the most experienced Rajput warrior in the army of Rana Hamir. According to Amir Khusro , Khilji dynasty's royal poet-scholar , Gurdan Saini led victorious campaigns in Malwa and Gujrat for Rana Hamir. Gurdan Saini also led the Rajput forces in the battle of Ranthambore where he was slain while leading a charge against the Turk army.

Shaheed Bibi Sharan Kaur Pabla
Sharan Kaur Pabla was a Sikh martyr who was slain in 1705 by Mughal soldiers while cremating the bodies two older sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, after the battle of Chamkaur. She was from the village Raipur Rani which is 2 KM from the famous town of Chamkaur.
Sardar Nanu Singh Saini
Sardar Nanu Singh Saini was a Sikh army general and a well-known jagirdar in Phulkian riyasat. He was a close associate of Maharaja Ala Singh who founded the Patiala state in 1753 AD.
He gained this jagir from Maharaja Ala Singh as a recognition and reward for having liberated him from the Sunam prison in 1747 where he had been incarcerated by Ali Muhammad Khan for over two years.

Ala Singh was liberated by Nanu Singh Saini with the help of Karam Singh Semeka in 1747 AD. Thereafter, he went on to found Patiala princely state in 1753 and took the title of Maharaja. Nanu Singh Saini became among his most trusted lieutinants and army generals. As a reward of Nanu Singh Saini's help in his liberation from the prison and his contributions in military campaigns as a general, his family was granted a large jagir which was spread in Patiala, Jind and Ambala regions. Along with Chahal Sardars of Patiala, this Saini family's estates in Patiala were the largest territories that any noble family owned in Phulkian riyasat. Nanu Singh Saini's family was also known as 'Wade Ghar Wale' in the Phulkian court because they had been granted a sprawling 1-acre (4,000 m2) bungalow at Der Sodhian by the ruling family.

Gulab Singh Saini, was an Indian freedom fighter and commander-in-chief of the army of princely state of Ballabhgarh. He led the army of Ballabhgarh state in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and was hanged on January 9, 1858 in Delhi's Chandni Chowk along with two other leaders of the mutiny
Shaheed Harnam Singh Saini
Harnam Singh Saini was a notable Indian revolutionary who participated in Ghadar Conspiracy and was hanged by British colonial government on March 16, 1917 in Lahore for instigating revolt against the empire. He was tried under third Lahore Conspiracy Case trial.
Subedar Joginder Singh Shahnan , Param Vir Chakra
Subedar Joginder Singh Shahnan (26 September 1921 - 23 October 1962), was modern Saini hero who distinguished himself by wining Param Vir Chakra in the 1962 Indo-China war , On 28 September 1936, he was enrolled in the 1 Sikh Regiment and he achieved martyrdom on October 23 1962 during the China-Indian war.

Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria (born 29 November 1935; Gurdaspur, Punjab – 1961) is a war hero, who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest wartime military award , Gurbachan Singh Salaria was from village Jangla near Shakragarh in Gurdaspur, Punjab. He belonged to an agricultural family and his father's name was Munshi Ram Salaria. Salaria clan is found among both Dogras and Sainis in rural Gurdaspur and Shakargarh.

Maya Singh Saini , sometimes spelt as Mayya Singh Saini, was a cavalryman and notable Indian freedom-fighter from Naushahra in Amritsar district of the Punjab , Ghorchara in Khalsa Army , Maya Singh Saini was an initially a Ghorchara or cavalryman Khalsa army and fought in the battle of Ramnagar on 22 November 1848 during the second Anglo-Sikh war.
Padma Shri Nek Chand Saini
Nek Chand Saini, Creator of Rock Garden , Nek Chand Saini (नेक चंद सैनी) is a self-taught Indian artist, famous for building the world famous Rock Garden of Chandigarh, an eighteen acre sculpture garden in the city of Chandigarh, India , A Saini from Shakargarh Area of Gurdaspur , He hails from Shakargarh region (now in Pakistan) of district Gurdaspur. His family moved to Chandigarh in 1947 during the Partition. At the time, the city was being redesigned as a modern utopia by the Swiss/French architect Le Corbusier. It was to be the first planned city in India, and Chand found work there as a roads inspector for the Public Works Department in 1951. He was awarded the Padma Shri by Government of India in 1984.
Padam Shree Sadhu Singh Hamdard
Sadhu Singh Hamdard was a well-known freedom fighter and journalist of Punjab, excelling in both Urdu and Punjabi and an innovative poet, who carried in his name the psudonym 'Hamdard', "sharing with all the pangs of their hearts," "friendly towards all" , He is the late father of Dr. Barjinder Singh Hamdard, who is ex-Rajya Sabha member and the current managing editor and owner of the "The Ajit" which is world's highest selling Punjabi newspaper , He was born in 1918 in a Saini family of living at the village of Paddi Matvali, near Banga, in Jalandhar district of the Punjab. He was attracted by the revolutionary activity which was the stirring the hearts of the youth in his neighbourhood.
Early life as Freedom Fighter, As a high school student, he was active in Chaudhri Sher Jang's group of the radicals in the Yug Paltai Dal, party to impart a radical turn to the age. The Dal was formed in 1939-40 by Giani Harbans Singh of Sarhala Khurd in Hoshiarpur district. The Dal ceased to exist after the arrest and execution of its founder Harbans Singh, Sadhu Singh then joined the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee taking over its publicity wing.
Kulbir Bhaura, Gold Medal, Seoul Olympics
Kulbir Singh Bhaura (born October 15, 1955 in Jullundur, Punjab, India) is a former field hockey player, who was a member of the golden winning British squad at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Four years earlier, at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he secured the bronze medal with his team , Bhaura hails from Saini community of Indian Punjab, which has also produced other famous international hockey players like Rupa Saini, Prema Saini, Baljit Singh Saini, Balwinder Singh (Baljit's elder brother), and Balwant (Bal) Singh Saini. Balwant (Bal) Singh Saini , like Kulbir Bhaura, played for Great Britain.
Bhaura has played hockey all his life, nine years on the international level for Great Britain. After winning gold in 1988, he started working within the hockey industry, marketing and developing equipment. He has visited hockey factories in India and Pakistan, developing his own range of hockey and cricket equipment under the brand name Pantheon. He is also involved in developing goalkeeping equipment and now owns a ball manufacturing plant by the name of Chingford Balls , The only match in which Kulbir Bhaura did not take part at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 was against his native India. Bhaura, centre-forward for Hounslow and the Indian Gymkhana, won 84 caps for England and 61 for Great Britain. After winning an Olympic bronze medal in 1984, he was a member of the England squad which won silver medals at the 1986 World Cup and the 1987 European Cup.
Baljit Singh Saini, Asiad Gold Medalist & Olympian
Baljit ("Baljeet") Singh Saini (born August 12, 1976 in Ropar, Punjab) is a former field hockey defender and midfielder from India who made his international debut for the Men's National Team in 1995 during the Indira Gandhi Gold Cup. Baljit Singh Saini represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics in 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia , Baljit Singh was also a key player in the 1998 Indian hockey team which won Gold Medal in Asian Games after 32 years. He was also briefly the Captain of Indian hockey team , His older brother Balwinder Singh was also a field hockey international for India. His newphew Ashbeer Saini is India's No. 1 Junior Golfer.

Soni Pabla (1976-2006) was a folk singer and pop star who sang Punjabi songs. He is regarded as one of the all time great singing legends of Punjab because of his amazing voice. His formal name was Tejpal Singh Pabla , A Saini from the village of Chaudhari Balbir Singh , Soni Pabla was a Saini and was born and raised in Bilaspur, a village near Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. Bilaspur is the same village yo which belonged Late Chaudhari Balbir Singh and his son Squadron Leader (retd.) Sh. Kamal Chaudhari, both ex-MPS and widely regarded as Saini leaders of Punjab. Chaudhari Balbir Singh was also a Pabla Saini.

हापुड़, जनपद हापुड़ के मिर्जापुर (सरावा) निवासी लटूर सिंह सैनी ने आज मेरठ के एक अस्पताल में अंतिम साँस ली लटूरी सिंह सैनी द्वारा 1965 पाकिस्तान युद्ध में पाकिस्तान की जेल तोड़कर वापस भारत आए थे सूबेदार लटूर सिंह सैनी जब एक रात लड़ाई लड़ते हुए पाकिस्तान की सीमाओं में पहुंच गए तो वहां पर पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों ने उन्हें बंधक बना लिया लेकिन उनके होसलौ को बंधक नहीं बना सके। जब उन्होंने जेल में देखा कि पाकिस्तानी सेना द्वारा भारतीय सैनिकों को बहुत अधिक प्रताड़ना दी जा रही है तो उन्होंने जेल तोड़कर भागने का निर्णय लिया इसमें उन्होंने दो साथियों ने उनका सहयोग किया। सूबेदार लटूर सिंह व दो साथियों ने एक योजना बनाई और योजना बनाकर रात के अंधेरे में पाकिस्तान की जेल को तोड़कर वापस भारत लौट आए। ऐसे वीर सपूत को भारत सरकार द्वारा सम्मानित मैडम देकर किया गया था आज ऐसा वीर सपूत हम सब को पीछे छोड़ते हुए ईश्वर के श्री चरणों में विलीन हो सूबेदार लटूर सिंह सैनी अपने पीछे अपनी धर्मपत्नी व अपने पुत्र व पुत्र आदि को विलखता छोड़ गए। ऐसे वीर सपूत को समस्त देश अपनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता हैं।
